The Challenge

Induction & Onboarding

The Challenge

Through surveys and feedback the need was to improve employee onboarding experience by creating a consistent welcome and introduction to DS Smith which seamlessly blend and compliment the face to face onboarding experience.

Induction & Onboarding

3d paper guides were created to take the new colleague through an immersive experience with animation, video and storytelling used to being the ethos and history of DS Smith to life. This led to:

  • The First ever digital onboarding experience being created for DS Smith
  • Increased awareness and consistent understanding of the business, culture, people and history.
  • Reducing time to productivity with bite-sized modules delivered into the welcome pack.

Workplace Wellbeing Suite

The Challenge

To design a suite of modules to help create a happier, healthier workforce. The modules needed to be fully responsive, hosted on a flexible LMS platform, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of leaners and organisations. The training also had to be engaging, practical, bite-sized and meet professional standards.

  • The suite was complimented for its bite-sized nature, easily digestible content and visuals, and that I can be taken at leisure and alongside a busy schedule.
  • The content was CPD-accredited ensuring training meets professional standards and contributes to continued development.
  • Through a cloud based flexible LMS we provided the capability to host, sell and manage the suite and support the clients long-terms training offerings.

Need for Change

The Challenge

Specsavers needed to communicate a major “Need for Change” initiative to colleagues in a way that felt authentic, engaging, and in their own voice. The content had to be video-based, accessible across multiple languages, and resonate with staff at every level of the organisation.

We produced a set of six “Capabilities” videos, combining professional video shoots with authentic storytelling.

To ensure accessibility and cultural relevance, we worked with in-house colleagues for local language voiceovers, supported by a specialist translation partner.

This approach enabled us to deliver videos in eight languages while keeping the tone natural and relatable for staff worldwide.

Manager Support Planning

The Challenge

To address issues with unstable placements and to support managers giving them the knowledge and softer skills when dealing with assessments in relation to both new referrals and a change in support need. To support Managers, helping them create quality support plans using the information gained at assessment stage.

We created a typical ‘case user’ and to develop a set of interactive and engaging scenarios throughout the suite of modules to take the colleague through each of the 6 phases. This led to:

  • Improved quality of support plans
  • More complete information gathered during assessments
  • Better placements for people supported
  • Enhanced knowledge and softer skills of managers
  • Training accessible and engaging through responsive design

Contractor Induction

The Challenge

To modernise a solely classroom-based delivery model, to free up trainer time, and reduce contractor time to capacity whilst ensuring safety was not compromised.

We created a fully responsive elearning module with video and animation, giving contractors their on-site responsibilities and safety awareness.

  • The reduction in delays gaining access to site, has seen productivity increase and removed a hurdle for managers as they can now start people at the point of need.
  • This has also afforded greater flexibility for those inductees that have additional childcare, caring responsibilities and disabilities as they can complete their induction around their own personal needs.
  • Award winning for the best use of mobile learning from the Brandon Hall Group.
